Homage to Postumia

The Via Postumia was one of the consular roads of ancient Rome, spanning from Genoa to Aquileia. It was a major roadway, transporting soldiers, art, food and commerce across much of Roman Italy.

Pierangelo Masciadri has put together this design in homage to the via Postumia. Drawing together a Medusa's head found on coins of the time, with a Celtic eight-headed Phalera worn by soldiers, alongside depictions of Venus and Roman soldiers next to bell-shaped vases, all of which would have been seen at any time along the road.
